Wayne James is a lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana.  He is a board certified Tax Attorney and seasoned trial attorney who has 30 years of commercial and civil litigation experience.  Throughout his extensive litigation practice, he has developed an expertise in Business Law, Tax Law, Municipal Finance, and Bankruptcy Law.  Mr. James graduated from the University of New Orleans in 1986 with a B.S. in Accounting.  He then attended Tulane University Law School, where he received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1989.  He went on to matriculate at the University of Florida Law School where he received an LLM in Taxation. 

Wayne James began his legal career as an attorney with the Law Firm of Wilkerson, Tate & Williams, where he practiced Personal Injury Law, Business Law, Labor Law, Trusts and Estates, Real Estate and Bankruptcy Law.  He then moved on to the Louisiana State Senate where he served as committee attorney for the Senate Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Committee regarding tax, bond, and capital outlay laws and issues.  He worked directly with and advised Senators in drafting and amending Louisiana tax, finance, and business statutes. From 2003 to 2005 he was appointed as outside legal counsel for the Orleans Levee District.  In 2006 he was also appointed as outside counsel to the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport where he served in that capacity until 2010.

Mr. James is a member of the Christian Legal Society, Louisiana State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, Section of Taxation. Mr. James also serves as Secretary for the local chapter of the Gideon’s International.
